Would you look at the time… It’s a week into July and I’m just writing my June recap post. Time flies when you’re having fun? Okay, okay I just lost track of time. If you didn’t read my May recap, I have decided to start writing monthly recaps for my travel blog. Weird time to start when we can’t travel, I know. But now seemed like the best time to get the ball rolling on this new series. This is the perfect space for me to casually share about my travels near and far (but mostly near for now). Sometimes I don’t have the chance to write about every destination I’ve traveled to until months or even years after I’ve visited. So this monthly recap can give you an actual timeline of where I’m actually traveling and getting up to every month (FYI I share even more about my travels on my newsletter and IG stories).
PS I’m currently writing this while sitting at the river. I think this may be my new favorite “office space”.
Since this is such a delayed recap, I’m going to keep this short and sweet! Expect my July recap in a much more timely manner.

Destinations Visited
Maybe someday soon the destinations I’m visiting will be further than two hours from my house. But until then, I’m going to continue to explore my own backyard.
Olcott
Olcott is a super cute town on Lake Ontario. I actually visit Olcott a few times a year because it is just so darn cute! There’s not a whole lot to do here. But it’s great for a few hours to wander around the little shops and take in views of the lake. I would definitely suggest stopping by if you’re ever in the Niagara region.
Ithaca
This was my second time in Ithaca and it is truly such a beautiful destination! There are various beautiful State Parks and so many waterfalls. We stopped at Taughannock Falls, had a little picnic near the lake, and finished our day stopping by Robert H. Treman State Park before it started raining. I’m already planning on making another trip back ASAP!
Highlights
Finding a lesser-known waterfall in Buffalo
Perhaps this isn’t a secret or hidden waterfall, but it is certainly not well known. I have never heard of this waterfall near Buffalo until I saw a couple of people post about it on Facebook. This is one of those spots that I’m like “do I share about it or keep it to myself?” Will keep you posted if/when I decide to write about it!
Watching the locks in Lockport
I watched boats go through the locks on the Erie Canal! How I’ve gone this long, living near the Erie Canal and have never witnessed this, I have no idea. It might not sound that exciting, but trust me, it was really cool to witness. Next up, maybe I’ll take a boat ride on the canal?
Attending a Drive-thru Fair
During this summer without festivals or fairs, I was able to have a little fair-like experience with a drive-thru fair. There was a little “petting zoo” and we were able to order fair food to our car. It was honestly such a fun experience.
TJ Maxx Reopened
One thing to know about me, besides the fact that I love to travel is that I love TJ Maxx. It is my favorite place to shop and I’ve been missing my visit during this time. But, the store finally reopened this month. And guess who was one of the first people in line to shop? Yes, it was me, and I have no regrets.
