One of the most postcard-perfect views in the Cotswolds can be found in a small village in Wiltshire called Castle Combe. While every corner of this tiny village is full of photo opportunities, the most picturesque is, without a doubt, the Castle Combe Bridge.
When researching the Cotswolds, you’ve likely come across countless photos of this iconic stone bridge, with the peaceful Bybrook River and honey-colored cottages creating a scene straight out of a storybook.
And if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably wondered: Where exactly is this famous Castle Combe viewpoint, and how do I find it?
Luckily, this beautiful view is surprisingly easy to find. I’ll show you exactly where to go to see the Castle Combe Bridge, along with a few tips for capturing that postcard-perfect photo.
Where Is the Castle Combe Bridge?
If you’re looking for this iconic viewpoint in the Cotswolds, look no further than the picturesque village of Castle Combe.
The Castle Combe Bridge is one of the village’s most recognizable landmarks and is almost impossible to miss.
Depending on how you arrive in Castle Combe, you may even cross the bridge on your way into the village. Alternatively, the bridge is located just beyond the village center, along The Street.
The Castle Combe Bridge crosses the Bybrook River, and from the bridge, you can admire the river winding through the village, the honey-colored cottages, and picturesque Water Lane, a charming street running alongside the river.
How to Get the Classic Castle Combe Bridge Photo
To capture the classic photo of Castle Combe Bridge with the picturesque village in the background, you’ll want to cross the bridge and look back toward the village.
Take your photos from the right-hand side of the road, facing the village, to capture the stone bridge with the street winding through the honey-colored cottages.
Keep in mind that cars do cross this bridge, so always be mindful of oncoming traffic. Vehicles have the right of way, so be sure to step aside and photograph from a safe position.
