Domaine LeSeurre Winery
Perched on the eastern shore of Keuka Lake, Domaine LeSeurre Winery was founded by a husband-and-wife team from the Champagne region. Their French influence shines through in everything from the décor to the refined, flavorful wines.
The winemaking process here follows traditional French techniques, such as stirring the lees in the whites, which adds both texture and complexity to the wines.
During my visit, I was completely taken by the oak-barrel Chardonnay, a crowd favorite that’s rich yet smooth, and their Riesling, which was one of my personal favorites along the trail.
The tasting room is adorned with floor-to-ceiling wood finishes that feel both rustic and elegant. And natural light floods in through large windows, creating a warm and inviting space to sip along the Keuka Lake Wine Trail.
Step outside to the patio and you’ll find a pergola-covered terrace strung with soft bistro lights, creating an effortlessly chic setting to unwind with a glass of wine and soak in the lake views. It is such a beautiful space.
Weis Vineyards
When sipping along the Keuka Lake Wine Trail, you cannot miss Weis Vineyards.
Weis Vineyards has quickly earned its reputation as one of the best wineries in New York State, and for good reason. The German-born owner, Hans Peter Weis, brings precision and attention to detail that shows in every sip.
Enjoy guided tastings indoors with knowledgeable staff and expansive lake views, or opt for tasting flights served outside, where you can savor wine in a more relaxed setting.
I opted for a tasting flight outside, served in adorable mini bottles that make the experience both fun and interactive. From their Gruner Veltliner to their Uncorked Chardonnay, every sip is superb! It’s easy to see why Weis won 9 overall awards, in addition to the Winery of the Year award at the New York State Wine Classic.
Don’t skip lunch at Weis Vineyards. I paired my tasting with mini pretzels and flammkuchen (a German-style flatbread), which rounded out the experience. With good food, wine, and views, nothing can beat a visit to Weis Vineyards.
Hunt Country Vineyards
There’s something wonderfully rustic and homey about Hunt Country Vineyards, located near Branchport. Horses graze nearby, the tasting room is cozy and filled with photos and memorabilia, and the wines feel handcrafted with care.
Tastings are served in relaxed flights, allowing guests to sip at their own pace. There are plenty of cozy spots to enjoy your wine, whether you choose to linger at the bar, grab a quiet table, or head outside to drink by the vines.
I sampled a wide range here, from Cabernet Franc with its smooth, lightly peppered finish to a bold Blaufränkisch that was full-bodied and ideal for sipping in the fall. Their Semi-Dry Riesling offered that crisp, signature Finger Lakes acidity. And the Late Harvest Vignoles was the standout, bursting with tropical flavors of mango and honeysuckle.
After four decades as a founding member of the Keuka Lake Wine Trail, Hunt Valley Vineyards is wrapping up tasting room operations at the end of the year as they shift their focus. While the tasting room is closing, they’ll continue farming the vineyards and hosting select events and workshops
Keuka Spring Vineyards
Visiting Keuka Spring Vineyards was one of the highlights of my time tasting along the Keuka Lake Wine Trail.
The tasting room was recently renovated in the summer of 2025. The new tasting room is a sleek, sophisticated space that still feels warm and inviting. Large windows frame sweeping views over the vineyards, and cozy corners are perfect for enjoying a glass of wine.
And the views from the patio are simply stunning! Perched high above the vineyards on the east side of Keuka Lake, the winery overlooks rows of vines rolling down toward the sparkling water below.
The staff here was incredibly knowledgeable, taking the time to explain each pour, offering insight into the winemaking process, and helping you understand the subtle flavor differences between varietals.
What I loved most about tasting at Keuka Spring is how approachable and well-balanced their wines are. Think dry-leaning Rieslings full of bright acidity and light-bodied reds that are smooth yet flavorful.
I paired my tasting with their cheese board, which perfectly highlighted the wines’ flavor profiles.
Vineyard View Winery
If you love a good view (and who doesn’t?), Vineyard View Winery lives up to its name. The floor-to-ceiling windows overlook rolling vineyards that cascade down to the water, creating a picturesque backdrop.
This small, family-run winery offers a tasting flight of five wines. And despite its size, the list is impressively diverse. I sampled everything from crisp, dry whites to semi-sweet options and sparkling wines.
Their sparkling selections were the highlight: a bright, apple-forward Pétillant Naturel and a fruity Rosé Cuvée, both of which were absolutely delightful.
After your tasting, take your glass out to the patio or sink into an Adirondack chair by the vines to enjoy the views and relaxed atmosphere.
What I loved about Vineyard View is just how down-to-earth this winery is. This winery truly embodies the relaxed, welcoming energy of the Finger Lakes. Vineyard View is the type of place where you can truly unwind with good wine and great views.
Heron Hill Winery
Sitting high above Keuka Lake’s western shore, Heron Hill Winery is one of the most scenic stops on the trail. The architecture alone, a grand hilltop structure surrounded by vineyards, is breathtaking. And the panoramic views of the lake stretch for miles.
As you make your way up the steep drive to the winery, you know you’ll be in for a treat once you reach Heron Hill. And the views do not disappoint!
The winery was once named “Best Tasting Room in the World” by Travel + Leisure back in 2007; Heron Hill remains best known today for its incredible setting. The sweeping vistas are reason enough to stop.

- Explore the Keuka Outlet Trail: When you need a break between wineries, the Keuka Outlet Trail is a peaceful and scenic walk. This flat, easy trail passes two beautiful waterfalls, Seneca Mills and Cascade Mills. It’s perfect for a short walk or an hour-long hike to stretch your legs and take in the natural beauty of the region.
- Visit the Finger Lakes Boating Museum: Located just outside Hammondsport, this museum celebrates the region’s maritime history with restored vintage boats and exhibits. If you’re visiting in the fall, don’t miss their Legends & Lore haunted tour, a creative, small-town Halloween experience that takes you through tunnels and old winery cellars by lantern light.
- Walk Around Hammondsport Village Square: No trip to Keuka Lake is complete without a stroll through Hammondsport’s charming downtown. The historic village square is lined with boutiques, cafés, and local shops.
Where to Eat Along the Keuka Lake Wine Trail
If you’re looking for places to eat between wine tastings, you’ll find no shortage of delicious options around Keuka Lake. Many wineries offer small bites or snacks to pair with your tasting, and a few even have full dining experiences, like the hearty German-inspired dishes at Weis Vineyards. Beyond the wineries themselves, here are my top picks for where to eat around the trail:
- Seneca Farms: A Keuka Lake staple, Seneca Farms is a must for comfort food lovers. Their crispy fried chicken is legendary (golden, juicy, and flavorful), and they serve up over 50 varieties of homemade ice cream. If you visit in the fall, don’t miss the pumpkin custard. The outdoor pavilion seating makes it perfect for a laid-back lunch between tastings.
- Service Station FLX: Kick off your morning with a stop at this trendy, bike-themed café in Hammondsport. Service Station FLX roasts its own coffee in-house (the lattes are strong and delicious) and serves light breakfast fare like avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries.
- Timber Stone Grill: Located in the village of Hammondsport, Timber Stone Grill combines locally sourced ingredients with cozy, casual dining. The menu features a variety of options, including charcuterie boards, flatbreads, and hearty comfort dishes like pulled pork mac and cheese.
- The Pub at Pleasant Valley Inn: For dinner with a warm, refined feel, head to The Pub at Pleasant Valley Inn. Their globally inspired pub fare features seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, and the wine list highlights some of the best bottles from around the Finger Lakes. It’s cozy and ideal for a relaxed evening meal.
