The Eiffel Tower is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It has become a symbol of Paris, France and is one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. Today, the Eiffel Tower is painted a bronze color. However, it hasn’t always been that way. The Eiffel Tower was once painted a red-ish brown color.
The Eiffel Tower is located at Champ de Mars in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. However the Eiffel Tower can be views from various places in Paris.
Best Spots to View and Photograph the Eiffel Tower
Place du Trocadero
Place du Torcadero is one the most popular places to view the Eiffel Tower. This open space, directly across the Seine River offers unparalleled views of the Eiffel Tower. Place du Trocadero is the perfect distance away, allowing the Eiffel Tower to be framed well in the distance. This spot is especially favorable amongst photographers at sunrise and sunset as there are plenty of unique spots to shoot from.
Champ de Mars
Champ de Mars is a large pubic green space with direct views of the Eiffel Tower. This lawn is great for leisurely viewing the Eiffel Tower. Champ de Mars is a popular spot to have a picnic and is an ideal spot to see the cherry blossoms when they’re in bloom. The greenery adds a bit of color making Champ de Mars a great spot to photograph the Eiffel Tower.
Eiffel Tower Carousel
For a fun Eiffel Tower picture, head over to the Eiffel Tower Carousel. The Eiffel Tower Carousel is located by Champ de Mars and make a great photo spot! From the carousel, you can see the Eiffel Tower in the background. The carousel adds a unique and very French feel to your Eiffel Tower photo, as the carousel are found all over France.
Pont d’Iéna
Pont d’Iéna is the bridge that connects the Eiffel Tower to the Torcadero area. This makes a great spot to view and photograph the Eiffel Tower. You will most likely cross over this bridge if you are going to Place du Torcadero and Camp de Mars. The symmetry of the bridge and Eiffel Tower gives an affect of the bridge leading directly to this landmark.
Passy Station/ Pont de Bir-Hakeim
Passy Station is a metro stop in Paris that offers a unique view of the Eiffel Tower. You can even get a great view of the Eiffel Tower from the metro as you approach the station. (Tip: Have you shutter speed up if you want to get a photo of from inside the metro).
The Metro passes over the Pont de Bir-Harkeim en route to the Passy Station. This bridge offers an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower, framed by the metro bridge. Pont de Bir-Harkeim is a relatively quiet spot, making photographing the Eiffel Tower a breeze.
Avenue de Camoens
The view from Avenue de Camoens is my personal favorite viewpoint of the Eiffel Tower. Avenue de Camoens is located in a residential neighborhood of Paris, a few blocks from Place du Trocadero. A staircase leads to a balcony at the end of this street, offering an idyllic view of the Eiffel Tower, framed by trees and a French Renaissance-style apartment building.
Seine River Boat Cruise

The Galeries Lafayette is a high end department store chain located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Head up to La Terrasse at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann for an unbeatable view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. This spot is great for grabbing a drink to enjoy the view or just stopping for a photo.
Le Recrutement Café
While walking down this street, the Eiffel Tower seems to be out of sight, until you near this cafe. Suddenly, standing outside of Le Recrutement Café, the Eiffel Tower is is perfect view. This is one of the best spots to photograph the Eiffel Tower as it gives a city life perspective to it. This instagrammable Paris cafe makes great spot for Eiffel Tower photos.
Théâtre de la Tour Eiffel
Looking for a unique spot to photograph the Eiffel Tower? Head to the Théâtre de la Tour Eiffel, a super secret garden with the perfect view of the Eiffel Tower! I have only seen a handful of photos from this spot. You need to add this to your list of Paris photo spots. This gated garden belongs to the Théâtre de la Tour Eiffel and is the type of spot I daydreamed of when envisioning Paris. It makes you feel like the Eiffel Tower is there for your viewing pleasure.
